After launching its iPad 3G, apple has officially confirmed that it has sold 1 million iPads that means the first weekened of apple iPad 3G’s is a successful one in the market. Steve Jobs, Apple’s CEO said : “One million iPads in 28 days—that’s less than half of the 74 days it took to achieve this milestone with iPhone. Demand continues to exceed supply and we’re working hard to get this magical product into the hands of even more customers.
Gene Munster with Piper Jaffray issued a note to investors on Sunday, which reveals the estimate of the iPad 3G launch in New York and Minneapolis whic is based on checks from numerous stores and as well as in-person attendance . iPad 3G sell as many units in its first weekend as the Wi-Fi-only iPad sold on its first day in early April – this is true if the above assumption of Gene Munster is true.
Munster conclude all this by surveying 50 Apple stores to get this magical number, and judging by what he found that the iPad 3G is totally sold out (except only one store out of 50 didn’t sell all the iPads it had in stock by Sunday). Based on these numbers, Munster puts another overall assumption of selling 4.3 million iPads after analyzing the sale of this weekened.
