Hotmail’s New Disposable eMail Service could let you to throw gMail away

Microsoft is going to introduce throwaway email addresses for their Hotmail users. You might have thought that Hotmail was already for chuck away email addresses, but this software giant will now make it much easier to redirect mail to your existing primary address. Targeted at subscribers who need an email address just to sign up for a forum or some online service temporarily, this service will allow them to create a sub-address with their existing account. Now, Users will be able to create up to 5 new email addresses per year. To create a sub-address, Hotmail subscribers can already use add a +sign and a word to the first part of their email address. This means you still give away part of your address.

Under the new rules you can add up to five new email addresses per year. Messages will be sent to a folder within your primary email. Any messages sent to these temporary addresses will be forwarded to the user’s main account. While this service has been offered by other sites for quite some time now (i.e. Mailinator), though, it’s good to see that Microsoft is continuously upgrading its web email service. Now,it looks like users need not to set up different accounts for receiving different types of messages if they’re on Hotmail. After it, it sure beats having the need to remember 3 different passwords for 3 different email accounts unless of course they are the same.

Windows Live director Dharmesh Mehta shared his views by saying- “Let’s say you’re in the market for a new car. There are a bunch of websites that will email you price quotes, sales alerts, etc. During your car search, these messages are helpful, but once you’re done, they become clutter that can be difficult to stop. By using an alias on these websites instead of your main email address, you can avoid this.”

Now let us see how far this technique will help Hotmail in taking the affect of gmail away from the mind of widely separated internet crowd. As every coin has two faces, and so is with this case.
