Does anyone know an app in which I can type a coordinate in and it will show a Map of where it is? Please help!!!

I use a iPhone 3gs. I have Google Earth app and I can press “search” and enter the coordinates. It shows you the exact place. GE also shows your coordinates of anywhere on earth you that you are looking. Mine shows up at the bottom of GE and my grandsons shows up on top. I don’t know if there’s a setting for that or we could be using different versions of GE. Hope this is helpful to you.

    3. If an app mentions 3G then it is using triangulation from cell phone towers. This is NOT the same as a GPS. A true GPS receives signals from satellites in space. It works in the middle of the ocean and at the top of a mountain. It might have problems working where the sky is blocked (ie: in the city surrounded by huge buildings or under a thick canopy of trees), but everywhere else you should be good. I’m not 100% sure, but I don’t think there is a phone or tablet made with the required antenna and processor to function as a true GPS. Buyers should be aware the difference.

PS… A true GPS is free to operate after you buy the unit, while a 3G based system requires a paid service.

    5. I have an iPad 2 I want to use for marine nav. I know dual makes a gps device to make my iPad wifi a gps. However I do not want to embark on a long trip out of cell phone tower range only to find out I have no gps far offshore. I have read conflicting info on this subject. What is the real scoop?

    6. Motion X will still show the GPS location, but without a G3 network connection all the route calculating functions go away … kind of annoying. I’m still looking for a really good iPad GPS app. Motion X isn’t ‘the one.’ But I’ll try the others above.

    7. P. Shen: GPS Tracker is not a turn by turn GPS software. It’s a tracking software.

      Comment about the app:
It says this is an iPad app, but it is not. It’s for the smaller size devices. At least the app behind the link.

    8. I like the GPS Tracker. You can’t beat a free app! I don’t need the fancy graphics. Just tell me where I am and need to go!

    9. Hello,
I have an application that I import gps coordinates into Garmin devices. The company that I created the website for now wants to do the same to Ipods. Is there a way to accomplish this similar to the Garmin device?
      Thanks!!
