1) Too Many or No Posts at all!
Having too many posts or no post at all will definitely have a negative impact on your brand’s performance! Not achieving the optimal posting frequency is a common mistake that most brands/companies make while starting to promote themselves on social networks. Filling up your followers news feed with posts is a perfect way of losing followers as they become too annoyed with it. Whereas, posting only once a month suggests lack of user engagement and that you never care about your Social Media Fans.
While trying to build your brand using Social Media you need keep on posting related news/pics/posts on regular intervals. While the right time to post will differ from company to company, it is very much essential to identify the idle posting time for your brand. Posting regularly will also help you to keep the user engagement to the optimal.
It is very much common for Businesses to tweet at least two times a day on twitter, while they make just one-two posts per week on Google+. Maintain just one or two accounts so that you can easily manage them.
2) Not Being Responsive
Not being responsive is another factor that can badly hurt your social media reputation. After all who want to talk with a wall? When users/readers leave a comment on your social profile they at least expect your reply and it is important that you post your reply as soon as possible. The faster your reply, the better will be your brand’s reputation. Not replying to user’s comments within 24 hours, suggests that you are not at all interested in hearing them. A brand mainly runs because of its users, therefore you can’t last your brand for long you if you are being unresponsive on Social Media.
3) Lack of Quality
Your loyal social media followers expect entertainment and information from you. It is important to provide them with that extra quality in your posts that your competitors lack. No one wants to read the same old, boring and generic posts. They’ll leave you very soon, if you aren’t able to provide them with something unique and fresh they are looking for! You can occasionally showcase other companies in your own industry that aren’t your real competitors.
4) Don’t be excessively self-serving
While the whole thing is to be active on social media, it is important that you talk about related brands/news or products. Don’t just keep on posting your own achievements, try to build up a community. It is essential to talk about important things and share resources that will add value to your follower’s lives. Thus, you should avoid posting of promotion materials all the time, without adding any values. Moreover, showcasing other brands/products can sometimes help you get new contacts and favors.
