How to Encrypt and Delete Your iPhone or iPad Backups

Research and development exploring new possibilities in information technology, life for all is cosseted by the advantages of luxurious tech goodies. One such goodie is the iPhone and the iPad from Apple. Music wherever you go is what iPad facilitates while iPhone is like your mobile phone and also has all the features of iPad. Undoubtedly, your iPhone or iPad has all your personal information, chat history, text messages, pictures, music files and may be even some confidential data; data which you cannot afford to lose.
So how do you ensure that the backup in your iPad or iPhone is safe? Encryption of password will protect your iPad or iPhone and the steps to follow are pretty simple. This can be done with the help of iTunes application. But before you encrypt or delete the backup, it is essential to check whether iTunes is available on your PC. If yes, the whole process can be completed with a few clicks on your system. The step by step procedure to do this is as follows:
- Open the iTunes application on your system.
- Connect your iPhone or iPad using the USB cable to your system.
- Now, click on the newly found hardware on your system i.e. iPad or iPhone.
- Click on the ‘Options’ of your Apple device and select ‘Encrypt iDevice Backup’.
- A dialog box will appear asking you to create a password. One important factor is to never forget the password since you will not be able to recreate it again.
- Once you click on ‘Set Password’, iTunes will automatically encrypt the backup of your Apple device.

Now you can be sure that without the password you have set, it is not possible for anybody to sneak into your personal data. Likewise, deleting the old backup in your iPad or iPhone is an uncomplicated process; you can complete this task in a few simple steps. The algorithm to go by is as follows:
- Open iTunes application on the system.
- Click on ‘Preferences’ in the Operating System (OS) in the computer.
- Click on the ‘Device’ button and you will get a list of all your backups.
- Click on ‘Delete Backup’ and all is done.

When you delete your old backups in your iPhone or iPad, you get a comparable amount of free disk space without wasting much time. Following these simple steps, you can be sure that your critical information is safe and sound, be it in anyone’s hands.
How to Enable Facetime on iPad 1
Facetime falls under the category of most important but absent features of iPad, all credit goes to apple’s delayed feature releases. Even the first generation iPad doesn’t have support to some of the basic things like video chats etc. If there had been a front camera, it could have covered the 10 inch screen very nicely.
But now, you can enjoy having facetime on your iPad using a hack named “Intell“. However this actually doesn’t fulfills your complete requirement but you would become able to see the other party, and also voice will be transmitted from your side and they could be hearing you too. Here is the configuration which is to be done on your iPad in order to enable facetime on iPad. These files are to be changed in order to make it work properly:
Conference.framework, IMCore.framework MobilePhone.app, ConferenceRegistrationSettings.bundle, AVFoundation.framework, Celestial.framework, UISounds.
Procedure to Enable Facetime on iPad first Generation
1: SSH to your iPad with credentials root/alpine.Rename Conference.framework toConferenceiPad.framework andIMCore.framework to IMCoreiPad.framework and UploadtheConference.framework and IMCore.frameworks from the iPod Touch 4 or iPhone 4 to/System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/ of iPad.
2: Go to /System/Library/CoreServices/SpringBoard.app/ and download theK48AP.plist for editing purpose. Now add the following snippet of codeunder an array named <capabilities> and upload this modified version toSpringBoard.app on your iPad.

3: Now upload the ConferenceRegistrationSettings.bundlefrom the iDevice 4 to /System/Library/PreferenceBundles/
4: Browse to System/Library/Frameworks/AVFoundation.framework/K48/ and renameAVCaptureSession.plist to AVCaptureSession.bak2
5: Upload the AVCaptureSession.plist from theiPod Touch 4 /System/Library/Frameworks/AVFoundation.framework/N81/ or /System/Library/Frameworks/AVFoundation.framework/N90/ from the iPhone 4
6: Navigate to /System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/Celestial.framework/K48/ and rename AVCapture.plist to AVCapture.bak2
7: Upload the AVCapture.plist from the iPod Touch 4/System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/Celestial.framework/N81/ or /System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/Celestial.framework/N90/ from the iPhone 4
8: Now to get the sound functionality working navigate to /System/Library/Audio/UISounds/ and putvc~ended.caf,vc~invitation-accepted.caf, andvc~ringing.caf from the iDevice 4 into the iPad’s UISounds folder.
9: Navigate to /Applications/Preferences.app/ and download the Settings.plist
10: Now remove the requiered Capabilites key from item number 26 and save the changes.
11: Replace the version on the iPad with modified version.
12: Now edit the info.plist in theMobilePhone.app that is from the iDevice 4. ChangeCFBundleDisplayName~ipod to CFBundleDisplayName~ipad, CFBundleIconFiles~ipod toCFBundleIconFiles~ipad, CFBundleURLTypes~ipod to CFBundleURLTypes~ipad, UILaunchImageFile~ipod toUILaunchImageFile~ipad, and add a 2to the UIDeivceFamily array
13: Now replace the Default~ipod.png with this one.
14: Drive through/System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/TelephonyUI.Framework/ andrenamebottombarknobgreen.png to bottombarknobgreenT.png

The New York Times has just announced News.me a social news iPad App that seeks to rival The Daily. Apple and News Corp ‘s The Daily, iPad newspaper which is still yet to be announced by has already garnered a competitor.
News.me is a social news app that gives you news based on news sites you follow, as well as news from your friends’ Twitter stream. From what we’ve seen so far, it looks pretty interesting.
You can be sure to receive the most popular news available on the internet by using advanced filtering techniques to check how many times stories are checked and shared- Is’nt interesting?
