Once you start thinking about future technology, you can’t stop imagining all new means of transportation that will make your everyday life much easier.
What the future has in store for us when it comes to transportation is not much of a secret, since this motive has been present in sci-fi movies for ages. However, the future of personal transportation is a vast area to be explored, even more so if you are ready to forget about today’s limits and follow your imagination.
The future of personal transportation is a vast area to be explored.
Remember the movie Back to the Future?
Well, if they could build a flying car, imagine what can be done by using ever developing technology of tomorrow. Although not much has changed since Back to the Future, and we still drive regular cars, does the idea of flying cars really sound impossible? Well, it seems we’re getting closer to that, in several years’ time, we will have the technology and/or resources capable of creating a real one. For now, we have to settle with holograms of flying vehicles. When imagining the design of flying cars there are many issues to be considered, for example, air pollution, regulation of air traffic laws, special training for drivers, and the like. Of course, flying cars are still a figment of our imagination, but there’s nothing wrong with daydreaming about a world without traffic jams.
The future might introduce us to much lighter cars, which may solve many problems of today. Motor is what moves the vehicle, but in order to deal with its weight, it has to rely on its strength and fuel. However, since gasoline is no longer easily obtainable and will get more and more expensive, future transportation might solve this issue by creating lightweight cars. The lighter the car, the easier it is to move it, and, therefore, the less gasoline is needed. Additionally, more and more cars use the electric power, and reduction in weight can greatly contribute to their engine efficiency. Unlike flying cars which exist only in movies, creating lightweight cars is far more feasible. Many prototypes of these cars exist and, unlike the holograms of flying ones, these can be the solution for the excessive use of fossil fuels. However, people still choose cars based on their appearance, neglecting the ones that can benefit our environment.
Hovering – the Next Best Thing for Flying
Almost every person in the world had wished to fly when they were young, but only the few – pilots – have seen their wish come true. Perhaps you are among those whose dreams went unfulfilled. Luckily for you, there’s still hope – hovering! It’s as close to flying as it gets, and it doesn’t require special training, unlike flying a plane. Hovercrafts have been present for a while, but they’re still not that common as an everyday means of transportation. In addition to the large ones, there are those smaller, personal airboards. Although practical, airboards are quite expensive, which might be the reason why they aren’t widely used. If the sum of $14,000 doesn’t seem like a lot to you, consider buying an airboard to treat yourself. Airboards contain very powerful hovercraft engines. Self-balancing scooter might be a perfect start for you since it requires no special skills. It contains a battery that recharges over the period of 2-3 hours and you can travel a large distance using a single charge.
So, don’t despair!
Although flying cars still remain only wishful thinking, other means of futuristic transportation are available today!
What remains is to start imagining all the ways that those vehicles can be improved so as to meet the still unimaginable demands of the future.
